PROJECTS DONE FOR PREVIOUS JOBS & VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCES

This page presents projects and works that I had the opportunity to create/assist with during my previous experiences.

Pulse Topology

Artist Assistant (September & November 2021) @ The Bentway

Pulse Topology is an interactive installation designed to capture the biometric readings of visitors and convert them into an audiovisual immersive experience that amplifies and makes tangible the electrical activity of our individual hearts. Located near the Bentway in a space within Exhibition Place, the piece is intended to create a labyrinthine landscape where each participant's vital signs are represented by a different glimmering light bulb. The 3,000 most recent heartbeat recordings are viewable at any given time, shown in 3,000 LED filament bulbs suspended from the ceiling at varying heights.

What I worked on (installation & strike):

  • Unpacking and handling of light fixtures to be used in the artwork

  • Measuring, marking and labelling the fixture wires

  • Connecting all wires from the light fixtures to the dimmers and to the power supply

  • Adjustments, repairs and troubleshooting of hardware components

  • Packing up the leftover materials and keeping them in the designated space

Offers & Answers - Platform Guide

Digitally Mediated Collaboration: Research Assistant (October - December 2020)

Offers and Answers: A Field Guide to Creative Collaboration in Digital Spaces is a manual that is created to help artists work collaboratively online. This field guide was created during the COVID-19 pandemic that introduces new strategies that can hopefully be useful to artists working in collaborations, not only during the pandemic but also towards further collaborative works.

This project is led by four Canadian artists (Erin Brubacher, Sherri Hay, Veda Hille & Erum Khan) and partnered with Ryerson FCAD (currently known as The Creative School @ Toronto Metropolitan University).

The platform guide was published in the FCAD news.

What I worked on:

  • Surveyed platforms that can be used for online collaboration

  • Identify the tools and capacities of each platform

  • Compare and resume the best usage of each platform to solve specific problems identified by artists
