The Great Turtle's Journey
Created by Vanessa Lam, Hiu Tung Virginia Chan, Cheng Shao, Kimberly Davis & Divya Mehta (2017)
The Great Turtle is a water quality monitoring device that includes a temperature sensor and a flow sensor to check if the water in the area is safe for swimming or paddling. There are two sets of RGB LED strips on the Great Turtle to show the safety of the water according to temperature and flow rate respectively. If the temperature is normal, the LEDs will turn green, or else it will be blue. For the flow sensor, if the flow rate is low, the LEDs on the edge of the turtle shell are green, the LEDs will turn red if the flow rate is high. In addition to those sensors and LEDs, there is also a Raspberry Pi camera to record videos of the surrounding view from the perspective of the Great Turtle.
